You can apply against deer ticks as soon as they are active (generally, when temperatures are above about 40 degrees during the day and night). Reapply as needed for control.

For optimal control of insects on your lawn, apply when no rain is expected for 24 hours. Watering or rain within that time can make your treatment less effective. You can reapply as directed on the label as you need to.

The ready-to-use formula won't control grubs. The concentrate version will, but spring grub control is much less effective than treating in late summer/early fall because the grubs aren't feeding much right now. We recommend treating now, then making a follow-up treatment for grubs in July (and October if necessary).

The large 1 gal bottle is ready to use, so it doesn't require mixing at all. If you're inquiring about the concentrate version (32 oz), generally, you will use 1.5 fl oz (3 Tbsp) per gallon of water. Please take a look at the label for the mix ratio for your specific use, however, because there are a couple of different ones: http://www.spectracide.com/~/media/...

This particular product is a pre-mixed ready-to-use formula -- just spray and apply as directed on the label. If you are actually inquiring about the concentrate formula, mix 3 Tbsp in 1 gallon of water (generally). Please check the label for your particular use site before mixing, however.

This ready-to-use version isn't listed for control of subsurface insects such as grubs. You can apply the concentrate up to seven times per year per location against grubs, however, and the granules can be spread three times a year.

Question

Is Spectracide Tree Insect Killer effective when applied during cold months of the year?

This spring I planted 10 Eastern White Pine. One tree is completely brown, and appears dead. It shows wilted needles, and holes in the lower 1/3 of the trunk.

The trees are 8 ft tall. The other nine trees do not seem to be effected at this point.

I want to be sure that spraying during December in Ohio will be effective against what I think is ants.

Are you referring to Spectracide Extended Reach Tree Insect Killer Concentrate? There are no temperature restrictions, but you'll want to make sure that insects are actually the problem before applying. It is late in the year for ants to be active.

Question

Spectracide Triacide Once and Done inssect killer concentrate

I have a 32oz bottle of the item mentioned above but I do not see anything in your product list for a concentrate of this product. Is it no longer available and can I use this on centipede grass, is it just for specific lawn problems as opposed to spraying entire lawn AND can it be used with another type sprayer other than compression sprayer. Basically, I would like to know if I can spray centipede lawn (entire) with perhaps a hose-end sprayer?

The product you're referencing is the ready-to-use version, which does not need to be diluted. It sounds like you have the concentrate, which can be used in a hose-end sprayer set to the correct rate (which is generally 1.5 fl oz per gallon of water, but it does vary by use, so you'll need to review the label before mixing). You can use on centipedegrass. Here's a link to the complete directions: http://www.spectracide.com/~/media/...

We would keep your puppy out of the treatment area until it has completely dried. Unfortunately, you probably won't get great results with your application if it rained within 24 hours (especially if the spray did not dry before it rained). Reapply as needed.
