Question

Mealey bugs?

Our Douglas fir trees are turning brown. Upon close observation I have found white dots on the needles. We are told that these are mealy bugs and that we have to put a product around the drip line of the tree to get rid of them... Can we use Spectracide Malathion Insect Spray Concentrate instead and just spray the trees? Sounds so much easier. Also, will this kill them permanently?

Thank you

Yes, you can use a direct spray to control mealybugs on your Douglas fir rather than a pour. We recommend Spectracide Triazicide Insect Killer Once & Done, however, since Spectracide Malathion Insect Killer isn't listed for use on trees.
