Hello,

Could you tell me specifically how long it will take to see visible results when I apply weed stop from concentrate to dandelions, clovers, and creeping Charlie? Ex: 1 day, 1 week, 3 weeks?

Hi Blair. You should start to see wilting and yellowing within just a few hours of spraying. You can expect to get complete weed kill within several days to a week. Applying in warm (but less than 85 degrees), sunny weather will give you best results. Good luck!

Hi Kevin. Spot treat poison ivy with a solution of 1-2 Tbsp of concentrate per gallon of water -- the rate will depend on your lawn type (check the first table on the label under "How Much to Use").

Question

How much to apply to a weed

Hello,

I'm hoping to get the answer to a quick technical question if you don't mind? I'm planning to use a 4gal backpack sprayer purchased at Home Depot to spray my property. I will use water mixed with concentrate to your specs. My question is this, how wet do the weeds need to get with the product? I plan to spray the whole lawn but want to know how much liquid is required on the plant to kill it? I'm using it on dandelions, clovers and creeping Charlie primarily. Hope you can help me.

Thanks in advance,

You don't have to saturate the weed as long as you hit it with the spray your fine. Creeping Charlie may take a few applications to totally rid your lawn of it.

Hi Jean. You'll find English on the first part of the label, followed by Spanish. The mixture rate depends on the type of grass you have. If you can respond with that information, we'll be happy to look it up for you. Question

Can I use Weed Stop to destroy Lily of the Valley?

Previous owner had planted Lily of the Valley around an oak tree on the lawn and never did anything to keep it from spreading onto the lawn. Now it is coming up in the lawn quite a distance from where it was originally planted. I would like to kill the Lily of the Valley without killing the grass. Will Weed Stop do this effectively?

Hi John. It likely will kill the lily of the valley, but we don't recommend spraying within the dripline of your oak tree. You could also carefully spot treat the lily of the valley with Spectracide Weed & Grass Killer (being careful to keep it off the grass) -- you can use that product around (but not on) ornamental trees and shrubs.

Question

Results?

I mixed exactly 1 ounce per gallon, sprayed weed area of lawn 48 hours ago focusing on weed types and soaked larger weeds including the leafs. Now I guess the good thing is Dandelions are not flowering. Anything that had a flower, the flower has fallen over (looks like it). BUT all the weeds look the same: clover, dandelions, ect...in the north east, temperature about 75 degrees, no rain for days. The leaves of the weeds are not turning yellow and still pretty much look the same. Grass is a mixed blend of (not sure) but whatever a lawn would be in this northern area?
How long should I wait and does it take a few days sometimes? No idea what to do....

We're glad Spectracide Weed Stop for Lawns works so well for you! We recommend waiting a month to plant after using this product. If you're wanting to clear out all vegetation from your planting spot (including grass), Spectracide Weed & Grass Killer might be the product you're looking for, though. You only need to wait a week before planting. You can find more info here: http://www.spectracide.com/Products-and-Solutions/Lawn-Weed-Killers/Spectracide-Weed-Stop-for-Lawns-Concentrate.aspx

Hi Margaret. We recommend using Spectracide Weed & Grass Killer (http://www.spectracide.com/Products-and-Solutions/Weed-Grass-Killers.aspx) to very carefully spot treat around the existing ornamentals that you want to keep. Spray with caution, though, because a non-selective herbicide like that one will kill anything green you treat. You can replant one day after spraying and replant from seed seven days after spraying. Good luck!

Hi Melissa. You can seed, then treat as long as you treat within 24 hours of seeding (if you don't make it, wait until your new grass is at least 2 inches high before treating). If you decide to treat first, wait three weeks before re-seeding.
