Question

Can I spray when today is the only hot day?

I was planning on spraying my lawn today in the Detroit suburbs... Moved work schedule around to be able to. It's is 90 out unfortunately today. The forecast predicts temps in low to mid 70s rest of the week. Can I spray today at 5pm, or will just 2-3 hours of hot temps ruin my lawn?

Yes, it will likely damage your ivy -- this product is formulated for use on lawns only. If you want to spot spray, use Spectracide Weed & Grass Killer, being VERY careful not to allow overspray to your ivy or other desirable ornamentals.

It depends on your lawn type and use. For instance, if you're using a pressure sprayer to treat your entire Bermudagrass lawn, you'll use 4 tsp per gallon of water for each 250 sq ft. Wait to treat until your new grass has reached a height of at least 2 inches before treating (likely four to six weeks after seeding). This product should not be used on "floratam" St. Augustinegrass, however -- other varieties of St. Augustinegrass are ok. You can fertilize the same day as applying herbicide, but allow your first application to dry before spraying the second.
